The Slow Sound of Sucking

I just had a debate/argument that was sparked by a "Who would you rather have a beer with, Al Gore or George Bush?" comment. How the F&CK long are we going to have to put up with this kind of thing? Every time I hear someone try to argue that Bush is "just an average Joe" I have to try really hard to keep myself from going over the edge into an abyss of pure unadulterated verbal rage.

It's just catastrophically depressing to me that people actually care more about "havin' a beer with a guy" in some delusional daydream of a political figure than they care about the policies the person wants to enact. This reaction is compounded by the reality, which is that George Bush wouldn't piss on these people to put them out if they were on fire.

Scrizzewed

We are all going to perish in flames. That sloar-depths-roasting doesn't seem so bad right about now. Take the utter determination of Iran and Israel to blow themselves off the face of the earth, the inevitable housing/transportation bust presaged by an inverted yield curve and the obliviousness of the american consumer to it all, and you have a recipe for disaster. Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

I'll just do what Colbert says and stop thinking with my head.
